4th Edition
Twelve artists, two sessions, one theme: the spirit of the place. In August 2025 the Sorrento Coast became a studio, a stage and a field of research.
Genius Loci invited the artists to explore the historical, natural and human factors that give a territory its character, and to answer them with new works. Hosted at Relais La Rupe in Sorrento and developed in partnership with DOM Art Residence (Spain), the edition grew into a diffuse exhibition across Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento and Vico Equense, together with round tables, a participatory programme and a closing international conference.

Opening of the diffuse exhibition across four venues on the Sorrento Coast.

Opening of the Cloister of San Francesco with a performance by Maria Lamura.

Final exhibition and international conference closing the edition.
The residency
What the edition offered
Each artist lived and worked for two weeks at Relais La Rupe, supported by the ExtrArtis team and the DOM Art Residence network.
Space
Accommodation and studio
Free lodging and a working studio for the two weeks of residency.
Production
Production and materials
€250 for production and €250 for materials, plus artistic coordination for the final installation.
Education
International programme
Guided visits, meetings with local artists and an educational programme with international guests.
Community
Events with the territory
Participatory approaches, round tables and community events open to the public.
