Gil Gelpi (Lisbon, 1985) explores the concept of identity and transformation through sculpture, using resins and natural pigments to create biomorphic forms that evoke bodies in states of spiritual metamorphosis — rebirths suspended between the sacred and the carnal. The works created for ExtrArtis are emotional relics embodying the fusion of pain and desire. Matter becomes tear, song, and prayer — a ritual of catharsis in which the body transforms into a landscape of the soul.
